Your auto book is full of life insurance openings

Jun 18, 2026

Your auto book has more life openings than most teams see.

Not because the need is hidden.

Because the team is not trained to listen for it.

Young driver added.

New baby seat in the car.

Spouse added.

Teen driver.

New job commute.

Bigger vehicle.

Family car.

Those are not just auto notes.

Those are clues.

But here is where teams mess it up.

They hear the clue.

Then say nothing.

Or they jump right to: “Do you want a life quote?”

That feels random.

So the customer says no.

Instead, train your team to connect the auto change to the people in the car.

Start with: “Can I ask you a quick question?”

Then ask: “Who usually rides in this vehicle with you?”

Let them answer.

Then ask: “If something happened to you, who would be impacted the most financially?”

Now the talk is not about life insurance.

It is about people.

That is the correct frame.

Then your team can ask: “Would it make sense to at least look at a simple plan to protect them?”

Simple.

Human.

No pressure.

Here is what I would do this week.

1. Pick three auto triggers.

Start with:

Spouse added
Teen driver added
Family vehicle added

Keep it simple.

2. Give the team one life question.

Use this: “If something happened to you, who would be impacted the most financially?”

Make them memorize it.

3. Review real calls in huddle.

Ask:

Who heard a life opening?

What did the customer say?

What did you ask next?

That is how the team learns.

Here is the shift.

Life insurance does not have to be a cold pivot.

It can come from a real change in the household.

The car tells a story.

Your team has to learn how to hear it.

Ask better questions.

Listen longer.

Stack the reps.

If you want help training your team to find these openings, Ignite Agency Training can help you build the scripts, reps, and habits.
